种族言论引发的血案：中国留学生新西兰杀害印度出租司机

      一名奥克兰印度裔司机Hiren Mohini的华人厨房帮工中国公民Zhen Xiao日前在上海接受终审判决，并对自己的行为表示懊悔，被判处十五年有期徒刑，于上海某监狱服刑。死者的亲属在接受记者采访时表示，该判决比较公平。　



   　“这个判决让我们得到了一些心理安慰。”亲属说。

　　负责该案的奥克兰警官Hywel Jones昨日在上海法院参与旁听。

　　“Mohini的遗孀对判决结果表示满意。”Jones说。

　　去年1月31日凌晨，印度裔出租车司机Hiren Mohini在奥克兰Mt Eden地区被人杀害，身中数刀而亡。三个月之内，中国警察就在Xiao在上海的公寓中找到了他并将他逮捕。



　　由于中新两国并未确立引渡罪犯条约，所以对该案的审判只能于中国境内进行。中国承诺将不会对ZHEN XIAO施以死刑。在新西兰犯案的罪犯在另一个国家受审，这在新西兰的历史上实属首次。

       现年24岁的Xiao Zhen在去年1月刺死奥克兰印裔司机五天后，从奥克兰逃离，飞回上海。

　　在新西兰政府的要求下，他被中国警方逮捕，并被控谋杀罪——蓄意伤害致死。

　　在上海第二中级人民法院长达三个小时的听证会中，Xiao承认了一些不利于他的证据，其中包括以刀刺Mohini。他向三位法官求情，希望能够看在他年轻且没有犯罪前科的份上对他宽大处理。

　　他说在杀害印裔司机的当晚，他上车后和司机聊起了天，聊到他在酒店里工作的事。Mohini马上气势汹汹表示太多亚裔人民在新西兰拿走了工作岗位，他们两个的聊天随即变成了争执，亚裔司机随口骂他''中国猪''，随后双方又因车费问题而升级。

　　Xiao说他之所以拿刀是因为Mohini比他强壮的多，当时对方让他感到很害怕，但他并非真的想要刺杀司机。

　　“我无意杀害司机，我对我的行为非常抱歉。我很愧疚。”他说：“请原谅我。我还年轻，没有犯罪前科，也是家里唯一的孩子。我没有自首是因为我害怕后果。”他请求法官考虑以上原因，并对他进行宽大处理。

　　

       萧真家属对受害人家属表示歉意


　　检举人表示如果受害者家属原谅Xiao，那么将可考虑对他的判刑进行较轻处理。
　　在法庭之外，Xiao的姨妈代表他向对Mohini的家人道歉。她说她的家人同时也写了一封信给Mohini的遗孀及他的两个女儿表示哀悼，并对他的家人进行经济赔偿8万纽币。

　　“没有人有权利结束别人的生命，”她说，“我们对此感到深深的悔恨。”
